Intro: Many people may disagree about which conference is better East or West but I am here to settle that once and for all. I will be grading each conference on five different categories. With A being great and F being horrible.
Old Age: Both conferences have an age factor working against them. The Spurs in the West are getting older and older. Manu Ginobili and Tim Duncan are both over 35. Also the Mav's are getting old to. They are the oldest team in the L. Their average age is a league high 30.3 years, and Dirk Nowitzki is 34 and Jason Kidd is aproaching 40. The Lakers also have an age problem because KoBe is 34 and Pau Gasol is over 32 also.
In the East the Celtic's may be older than preffered; (Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce are over 34 years old.) but they can still hang with the young guns. They even picked up Jason Terry who is getting old himself. As of 2012 the Hawks were the oldest team in the East at an average age of 29.5 yrs. Although they are fading, they still can contend in the playoffs. But with the loss of Joe Johnson who is now on the Brooklyn Nets they may fall out of the playoff race.
West: With the Spurs, the Mav's, and the Laker's the West deserves a B-.

West: With the Spurs, the Mav's, and the Laker's the West deserves a B-.
East: Including the Celtic's and Hawk's the East recieves a B+.
Young Stars: The West has great young stars such as Kevin Durant and Russel Westbrook. KD has been improving this offseason and will continue to score at will for the OKC Thunder. Also the West has Anthony Davis, the New Orleans Hornets first round pick. Anthony Davis is hoping to make a big impact in the NBA with his new trademark FEAR THE BROW. Which I personally don't understand why you would want to trademark something that ugly. But he will be a good player with his lengthy arms he can block just about any shot.
While the East has some great players such as Marshon Brooks for the Brooklyn Nets. He isn't as good as KD or Westbrook but I believe that he will be able to make an impact this year. Also Derrick Rose may be able to come back from his torn ACL and make an impact this year for the Bulls. In addition Kyrie Irving promises to have a all-star worthy year after winning ROY last season.
West: The West has some promises with their young players so they deserve an A-.

West: The West has some promises with their young players so they deserve an A-.
East: The East has a more questionable aproach since D-Rose has a torn ACL so they'll recieve a B.
Fresh Faces: The West has some great new faces such as Dwight Howard on the Los Angeles Lakers and Andre Iguodala on the Denver Nuggets. With these incredible new faces the West should be able to make a bigger impact than last year.
The East on the other hand doesn't have any great fresh faces. Jason kidd will make a small but noticable impact in New York. He will distribute the ball very well. Also Bynum will make a large difference in Phili after he is healed from his injury.

West: The West's fresh faces look decent and they will have a good year so they'll get an A.
East: The East only has one great new baller in Andrew Bynum and he's injured right now. With all of the questions circling Bynum the East deserves a lowly C.
Health: Both Conferences have had some health issues but they keep on going. The West has been doing all right with just a few minor injuries in the recent past to Steve Nash, but there hasn't been a need for any major concern in the West.
However in the East Derrick Rose is out until late January with a torn ACL. It is still unknown if he will ever be back to full strength. D-Rose is one of the best players in the L but after this injury he might not be as electrifying as he was in his early NBA years.

West: For the first time in years the West is winning this category and they deserve an A-.
East: The East on the other hand has genuine concern with D-Rose and gets a B-.
Final: The West so far is having a good year. While scoring B- in age, a A- in the young stars categorey, an A in fresh faces, and an A in Health the West has a good conference this year. The East hasn't had the best year but they still have been able to have an alright year. The East received a B+ in old age, a B in young stars, a dissapointed C in fresh faces which would've been much better last year, and a B- in the health categorey. The East doesn't have a the strongest conference this year.
West: The West will receive a good grade this year they receive an A- in the final category.
East: The East deserves a lowly B this year after what would have probabaly gotten an A- last year.
